The Photoshoot : Rock genre
These are the pictures I took for the Rock genre. It follows many of the codes and conventions of a typical rock band in terms of relatively darker lighting ( so the shoot was done right before sunset) , and the model's costume and mise en scene.
These are all the pictures, including the rejected shots and those I will incorporate into my magazine.
Shot for a double page spread with negative space for text/ Title to be designed. Also wanted to ensure that all members of the band were in the shot.
Option for Front cover with amps and musical instruments to support the Rock genre.

Planning: Codes and Conventions on Genre
Application of Codes and Conventions on Genre
Genre: Rock/ Grunge
As seen in the picture, this band (PVRIS) follows the codes and conventions of a Rock band.
They wear black, have tattoos and piercings. The girl has the side of her head shaved. They have an eerie sort of outlook. It is as Daniel Chandler states in his Genre Theory that it is due to these shared codes and conventions that are then regarded as being part of one genre.
Genre : Indie-Rock

Genre : Indie-Rock
This is an example of an Indie-Rock band (Echosmith). They are seen to be wearing light pastel colors and floral shirts and button down shirts. They have a more of friendly outlook as can be seen with the way they dress and their body language and these codes and conventions can be seen to be followed by other bands and artists of the same genre.
